Technology exchange to strengthen conveying
In a move to further strengthen its position in bulk material handling systems, Geo. Robson has concluded an agreement for technology exchange and marketing, with Norwegian company Saxlund, whose products Robson will now market as sole UK agent. These include Step Feeders, Rotary Frames and Hydraulic Rotors.
At the same time, Robson's skills in modern design engineering and Saxlund's decades of experience are being combined to launch an innovative new generation of Robson/ Saxlund Push Floor Bunkers and Sliding Frame Silos for reception, buffer or export schemes.
These dischargers are purpose designed for materials such as clay, woodchip, tyre chips, coal and sludge cake, using a series of wedge profile frames inside a flat bottomed vessel.
Alongside Robson's existing ranges, they will extend the company's in-house ability to handle difficult or sludge type materials.
Former Saxlund manager Mike Last has joined Robson to head up the company's design and marketing activities for these new ranges, as well as for the marketing of the Saxlund equipment.
He commented on the move: 'Robson and Saxlund combined technical expertise will provide one of the strongest alliances in the industry.' Robson sales director Mark Hardwick provided the impetus behind the developments and concluded the agreement with Saxlund directors William Willumsen and Arne Lindekleiv.
He added: 'These new products and Saxlund's technology will add considerable scope to our product range, to the benefit of our existing clients in markets such as cement, sugar and glass as well as in the environmental sector, including water treatment, recycling, wood and waste where both the Robson and Saxlund names are well respected.'
