Sixteen boxes packed and stacked automatically
Automatic pallet handling system packs and stacks 16 boxes in 15 minutes. Pallets 1000mm by 1200mm with 16 or 20 plastic boxes are loaded onto an 'in-feed' Zero Line Pressure (ZLP) roller conveyor, where they form a queue. The Zero Line Pressure roller conveyor controls the queue so that the leading pallet moves first then the subsequent pallets each move one at a time to form a queue but the pallets never touch.
At the end of the queue two stacks of bins are transferred from the pallet onto a roller conveyor by a motor driven slide arm.
This transfers each stack into a Monk de-staker where the bins are separated and then transferred one at a time to the production area.
The lid is automatically removed by a pick and place unit equipped with vacuum pickup cups.
Products are then automatically loaded into to box by the pick and place unit and the lid replaced.
The two axis pick and place uses the Festo air servo system which is fully programmable and has a horizontal stroke of 2000mm and a vertical stroke of 1000mm.
The full boxes are stacked four high and then returned to a pallet and queued on an 'output' conveyor to await dispatch.
