Modular coneyor can be customised for many layouts
A new modular powered conveyor system from BHL Conveyor Technology is highly versatile and can be easily customised to individual layout requirements. Designed for unit load operations, the conveyors are quiet in operation, and can be used for linking multiple production stations or as machine feed/discharge units. Called iX - Line, they can be supplied in five nominal conveyor widths of 80, 100, 160, 240 and 320mm, all equipped with horizontal or vertical curve sections if required.
The conveyor chains are manufactured from a chemically inert white Polyacetal and can be supplied in standard or friction- top variations, as well as carrier types with optional heights for the stand-up carriers.
Conveyors over 160mm width can be fitted with centre supports and slides for the chains to give increased load bearing capacities.
Conveyor chains are assembled with interlocking links held together with a single captive retention pin for ease of assembly.
These chains are articulated, fitted with rubber dampers to reduce noise, and can accommodate a bend radius based upon the chain centreline of 250mm for 80 and 100mm width conveyors, with 500mm radius on the larger sizes.
They run in self lubricating slide profiles which are fitted with bearings on the curved sections.
This minimises friction with quieter running, resulting in longer life, lower maintenance and reduced power requirements.
All chains are available in three metre lengths as standard, but can be supplied in any length to suit.
Conveyor side and centre support profiles are precision aluminium extrusions with a clear anodised finish.
These are available in 6.1m lengths, with all connecting pieces being manufactured from galvanised steel.
Horizontal curves can be supplied in five pre-assembled quadrants of 30, 45, 60, 90 and a full 180deg.
Vertical curves cover 5, 15, 30, 45, 60 and 90deg, with all bends supplied with the necessary connecting pieces.
Depending upon the conveyor model, indirect or direct drive units for either centre or end of conveyor location can be fitted, together with idler units.
A catenary drive is also available where the conveyor chain is a single flat horizontal loop that does not require a below-the-bed return.
A full complement of conveyor side guides and support legs providing height adjustment facilities can also be supplied.
The company supplies from single components to full turnkey system design and installation, including belt conveyor equipment if required.
