Welcome to Conveyor System

The compact and more efficient mini conveyors

Montech is launching a series of new Mini-conveyors which complement its existing Low-profile models and use a 24V brushless DC motor, rather than the more traditional AC varietyMontech is launching a series of new Mini-conveyors to complement the existing Low-profile models. The new range uses a 24V brushless DC motor, rather than the more traditional AC variety. As well as being more compact, quieter and energy-efficient, the Mini-conveyors also benefit from a facility for controlling speed, direction, acceleration and deceleration.
Moreover, compared with an AC motor, the DC unit provides a virtually constant torque-speed characteristic.
There are certainly similarities between the new Mini-conveyor and Montech's existing Low-profile conveyors, such as the chassis extrusions, end roller housings, wide choice of belt materials, and accessories - including stands, side guides and sensor brackets.
But the Mini-conveyor is available in a narrower conveyor width (45mm) in addition to the previous four sizes between 60 and 140mm, and there is now an option to mount the motor on a swinging arm at either end of the conveyor, thereby giving clearance that allows flighted belts to be used for the first time.
Although the motor is rated at 24V DC, it is capable of operating from any DC supply within the range 14-28V, and the control electronics can easily cope with unsmoothed currents or voltages.
Long cables from the power supply to the conveyor do not cause problems either.
Each conveyor is equipped with several means by which the belt can be controlled.
The first is a simple on/off switch on the keypad, with the speed set via the same keypad.
One alternative is to use a 24V signal, perhaps from a PLC, to switch the conveyor on or off remotely; however, if a PLC is used, there is the option to use two signals, allowing the conveyor to be run automatically in either direction.
Speed, acceleration and deceleration can all be pre-selected and locked, ensuring that operators cannot subsequently tamper with these settings.
Note also that each conveyor is fitted with an electrically-operated brake as standard.
Despite its compact size, the Mini-conveyor can carry a very respectable 22kg.
The maximum length is 12m for the version with the underslung motor, or 5m if the end-mounted motor is chosen.
Two speed ranges are offered: 0.4 to 7.3m/min, or 1.2 to 21m/min, and the digital display on the control panel indicates the actual speed.
The ramp-up time can be programmed to be any time from 0.5s to 5s.
Lastly, don't forget that Montech guarantees the conveyors for two years, even if they are run continuously at full load.
And because the motors are brushless DC types, there is no need to change the brushes every 5000 hours, which would be the case for a typical brushed DC motor.
