Measuring wheel encoder tracks conveyors

Utilising novel Mini-Disc technology, the new DKV 60 from SICK (UK) , is an extremely robust measuring wheel encoder that can help to guarantee continuous material flow. It does so by either monitoring the speed of conveyors or by tracking the position of a product as it moves along a conveyor. With a wide choice of linear resolutions, from 0.025 to 10mm, in 5 or 10-30V versions, the compact and economical DKV 60 offers users a fully integrated solution to their conveying needs.
Applications include cut-to-length machines, steel and sheet processing machinery, storage and conveying systems, label printing and applicating machines, sorting systems, textile machinery and inkjet printers, to name but a few.
Not only can the DKV60 be fitted directly to the conveyor belt without the need for any mechanical accessories, saving installation space, but it can also be used with two different wheel materials for different applications.
The integral mounting plate, manufactured from sprung steel, ensures that a constant force is applied, keeping the wheel and conveyor in contact at all times, thereby ensuring reliable operation in the presence of machine vibration and fluctuations in the belt material.
Highly resistant to shock and vibration, it features an IP65 protection rating and a choice of TTL or HTL electrical interfaces.
