Chip Conveyor/Filtration System offers modular design
High Level Drum Filtration System combines conveyor for chip removal and coolant filtration system that can be added at any time. It is capable of removing large chips and stringers, and cleans coolant down to 50 microns. Machine shutdown for sump cleaning is virtually eliminated. System suits CNC metal cutting machine tool applications.

Mequon, WI., September 1, 2004 - Using a unique "building block" approach, the new Jorgensen High Level Drum Filtration System offers a complete modular conveyor and filtration system for chip removal and coolant filtration in CNC metal cutting machine tool applications. "What separates this system from anything else available in the market today is the flexible approach it offers to the customer" says John D'Amico, Vice President Sales & Marketing for Jorgensen. "We developed this concept so that a customer buying a new machine can start by only purchasing a standard chip conveyor. Then, after running the machine in their application, they can decide if they need to add the filtration module later."
According to D'Amico, competitor's drum filtration systems require the decision to purchase a conveyor or a filtration system up front. Then, if the standard conveyor is purchased and the customer finds out later after running the machine that filtration is needed, the conveyor must be scrapped and replaced by a complete new filtration system. "With our system the standard conveyor is simply upgraded by adding the High Level Drum Filtration kit" says D'Amico. The kit is comprised of the drum filter unit, two pumps and some simple plumbing hardware.
The High Level Drum System is capable of removing large chips and stringers and cleans coolant down to 50 micron. Machine shut down for sump cleaning is virtually eliminated. Coolant and tool life are improved, as is machining accuracy.
"The other great thing about this system is that Jorgensen has the capability to retrofit the high level drum filter package to many existing machine tool chip conveyor installations as well" says D'Amico. "Many customers will be able to upgrade their current conveyor and tank to a much more efficient filtration system with our High Level Drum Kit, and at a significantly lower cost than buying a complete new system." Jorgensen's High Level Drum Filtration system will be on display at IMTS in their booth #D4618 in the Lakeside building at McCormick Place.
