High tensile belt hooks widen conveyor splice life
Redesigned high tensile belt hooks have a greater wire mass and bring longer splice life to slider-bed conveyor installations.A series of redesigned Clipper wire-hook conveyor belt fasteners from Flexco feature increased wire diameter and mass for greater resistance to abrasion, belt tension and other abusive operating conditions. Clipper RHTX Fasteners are made of high-tensile steel rectangular wire with cross-section width of 0.052 inch (1.3mm) and height of 0.062 inch (1.6mm). The increased height, up from the standard 0.057 inch (1.4mm), adds wire mass for significantly greater strength and longer splice life on light/medium-duty belts in applications involving slider beds or carrying abrasive cargo.
The three sizes of RHTX Fasteners are rated for belt thicknesses from 3/16 inch (5mm) to 9/32 -inch (7mm), and for pulley diameters as small as 4 inches (102mm).
All sizes can be installed quickly and accurately with standard Clipper tooling - the Clipper Vise Lacer, Baler Belt LacerJ, 12 lacer or the LW95 lacer.
Various hinge pin options are available.
For optimum performance in abusive applications, Flexco recommends a 0.125-inch-diameter (3mm) DuralinkJ braided cable.
Made of 316 stainless steel wire and filled-nylon coating, it offers both flexibility and abrasion resistance.
The RHTX fasteners are supplied in strips of various lengths sized for standard belt widths, ranging from 4 inches up to 12 inches (100-300mm).
Sturdy carded strips can be easily cut to any desired length with scissors or a knife without losing hooks or sacrificing hook alignment.
